Postdoc position in atmospheric science and technology at LMD, France
At the Laboratoire de M̩t̩orologue Dynamique РEcole Polytechnique (LMD) in France, a 13-month postdoc position in atmospheric sciences/lidar physics is available. The position will be part of the task "development of a new standardized and fully automated algorithm for lidar characterization of PBL vertical structure at ICOS-atmospheric stations" within the ICOS-INWIRE project. In collaboration with an engineer of the SIRTA team, the candidate will develop algorithms dedicated to the retrieval of boundary layer height from lidar measurements, will conduct research and tests to validate the system for estimating the height of the boundary layer, as well as will take care of the management and maintenance of the lidar instruments from ICOS. Close collaboration with the RAMCES team at Laboratory of Climate Sciences and the Environment (LSCE) of the Atomic Energy Commission and Alternative Energies ( CEA) in Saclay is foreseen. The candidate should have a PhD in atmospheric science, atmospheric remote sensing, or related subject. In addition, he/ she should be able to work under linux / windows environment and should have strong skills in scientific computing software (matlab/python/IDL), as well as speak and write English fluently.
